Premer Joware

A Tale of Love and Forgiveness, based on Tagore's poetic work Porishodh and dance drama Shyama is a presentation never attempted before.

Both the poem Porishodh and the dance drama Shyama are based on the same story. Yet there are key differences in not just the story-line, but also in the manner in which they are presented. Shyama is fluid, dramatic and almost straightforward in the questions it poses to the viewer. Porishodh on the other hand goes deeper and raises sensitive questions that have no easy answers.

Shahana's Premer Joware is a composite of the poem and the dance drama that melds the fluidity of the dance drama with the complexity of the poem, and thus creates a unique dramatic experience.
